Opportunity Our Dam Practitioners work collaboratively to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions to clients and communities on unique dam, reservoir, and hydropower projects nationally and globally. As an Intermediate Geotechnical Engineer, you will: Support the design, analysis, and construction of dams, reservoirs, dykes, spillways, and hydropower projects across Canada. Conduct dam safety reviews and inspections in accordance with Canadian Dam Association Guidelines, with short‑duration travel within Canada. Manage and coordinate geotechnical‑focused and multidisciplinary project teams, commensurate with experience and capabilities. Mentor and be mentored by colleagues, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and industry partners. Contribute to business development, proposal preparation, and market expansion initiatives. Drive innovation by leading or contributing to digitization initiatives, advanced numerical modeling, market research, and emerging technologies focused on climate change adaptation, risk reduction, and aging dams. What We're Looking For Proven ability to manage projects independently. Proactive approach and strong problem‑solving skills. Passion for positive impact through engineering. Effective communication skills, including report writing and client engagement. Commitment to technical excellence and mentorship. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Geological, Civil, or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s or PhD an asset). 7+ years of relevant industry experience. Experience in dam engineering, dam safety, geotechnical design, and/or dam construction. Knowledge of relevant Canadian and global dam guidelines and standards. General knowledge of geotechnical software solutions (GeoStudio™, LeapFrog, Rocscience). Demonstrated ability to work and manage projects independently and with a team. Active participation in professional associations and technical communities (an asset). The successful candidate will primarily work in a typical office environment, remaining sedentary for long periods.
