Electrical Engineering Assistant

Your role Prepare technical documents, such as engineering drawings (including GAs, DDs, EDs), change paper markups, calculations, design/analysis reports, design requirements, design manuals, bill of materials, design specifications, technical specifications, component specification sheets, commissioning specifications, etc. Coordinate and interface with client(s), suppliers, stakeholders and other design disciplines to execute assigned engineering work. Participate in review of interfacing discipline's documentation. Prepare or assist preparation of scope of work and input to bid proposals. Perform field walk-downs during different design phases and prepare Walkdown reports as required. Assist field construction and execution activities, such as field changes, design revisions, commissioning, AFS, closeout, etc. Identify, recommend and implement continuous process improvements. Communicate effectively with Design Engineers and Technical Leads to ensure electrical requirements are fully understood. Implement and maintain project support systems (configuration management, document management, and change control) for the tooling department. Provide site support and perform tool maintenance services. Prepare documentation such as work orders, test procedures, reports, operation manuals, and change requests. Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent degree as recognized by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). Eligible to be registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario. Basic knowledge and experience of CANDU nuclear electrical power systems is considered an asset. Working knowledge applicable codes and standards, such as of CSA 22.1, Canadian Electrical Code Part I and The Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC). Shall have fundamental technical knowledge to resolve engineering issues or technical problems. Shall have excellent communication and technical writing skills and good ability to interact and communicate (both verbal and in writing) professionally with colleagues, clients and contractors.
