Job description

Jones Kopp Litigation Partners LLP is a boutique downtown Toronto litigation firm with a broad tort litigation and administrative law practice. Our lawyers enjoy a diverse practice encompassing all aspects of insurance related litigation with a significant personal injury component (tort and accident benefits), as well as professional liability, occupier’s liability, products liability, coverage disputes and more. 

We have an immediate opportunity for a lawyer with 2-5 years of defence litigation experience with an interest in also working on administrative law matters, including the representation of clients before administrative tribunals and regulatory discipline panels.


Skills

Strong organization, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills including the ability to work collaboratively with others and to build successful client relationships with a service first mentality.


Competency with drafting written submissions, pleadings, conducting research and analysis, examinations for discovery, mediations and all litigation steps up to and including trial.


Experience in assessing and handling Accident Benefits files or in appearing before professional regulatory tribunals and the ability to communicate effectively in both official languages would be considered assets.


Required

To be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario with a minimum 2 years post call experience.


To have the willingness and ability to periodically travel throughout Ontario as required.
