Principal Platform Engineer

Job Description As part of the IFS Copperleaf R&D, we are building a next-generation Agentic AI Platform - an intelligent foundation that enables reasoning, orchestration, and automation across enterprise services. The Principal Platform Engineer will lead the modernization and evolution of our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized environments in an Azure cloud-native infrastructure. This role establishes the technical backbone upon which our AI platform operates. Key Responsibilities Design and implement scalable Azure infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, and Kubernetes (AKS). Own CI/CD strategy and automation pipelines (Azure DevOps) for multi-environment deployments. Drive modernization of existing systems to cloud-native microservice architectures. Apply cloud-native observability frameworks including logging, metrics, and alerting (Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana). Collaborate across engineering teams to establish secure, automated deployment standards. Implement infrastructure governance, security policies, and cost optimization best practices. Enable platform scalability to support LLM-based agents, orchestration services, and future AI workloads. Mentor DevOps and software engineers, promoting infrastructure-as-code and DevOps maturity across teams. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform, or Cloud Engineering with a focus on Azure. Proficiency in Terraform, Bicep, Kubernetes, and Azure DevOps. Strong knowledge of containerization, service mesh (Istio/Linkerd), and infrastructure security. Experience automating builds, releases, and deployments for microservices and AI workloads. Solid understanding of CI/CD-as-code patterns and GitOps principles. Familiarity with AI/MLOps pipelines or distributed service orchestration is an asset. Excellent communication, documentation, and mentoring skills. About You You think in systems and build platforms designed for scale, security, and reliability.
