Maintain current Heart Save Level of CPR. Have current certification with either a Long-term Care – Certificate in Infection Prevention (LTC-CIP) or Certificate in Infection Control (CIC) through the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC), or be willing to obtain it within 12 months. Act as a specialist leader in all aspects of infection prevention and control, including outbreak management, auditing, infection surveillance, continuous quality improvement, etc. Support the delivery of IPAC education to all team members, caregivers, volunteers, students, visitors, and residents. Understand the IPAC protocol and maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations specific to infection control. Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members. Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the Assistant Director of Nursing Care role. Work with the interdisciplinary team to ensure implementation of the IPAC program across all program areas. Qualifications Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). Current certification with LTC-CIP, CIC, or willingness to obtain in 12 months. Heart Save Level of CPR. Experience as a specialist leader in infection prevention and control. Strong communication and educational skills. Knowledge of IPAC protocols and regulatory requirements. Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. Desired Assets Knowledge of policies, procedures, legislation, and regulations applicable to the long‑term care sector, including the Fixing Long‑Term Care Homes Act, 2021 and Health & Safety. Three (3) years of experience leading and directing departments in a healthcare setting. Education and experience in IPAC practices such as infectious disease, cleaning, disinfecting, data collection, trend analysis, outbreak management, reporting protocol, asepsis, microbiology, epidemiology, program management & adult education, or willingness to complete an IPAC Canada‑endorsed or sponsored course. Experience working in a Long‑Term Care setting. Commitment to a resident‑centred social culture and pride in delivering the highest quality of service to residents, visitors, and team members.
