About the role

Transcends is seeking a skilled and experienced account strategist in North America. You will lead and develop accounts to secure net new and retainer business with B2B tech companies within the hyperscaler (Microsoft, AWS, GCP) ecosystems. This role is an opportunity to significantly impact Transcends’ growth. You will possess the ability to support business growth opportunities and develop strategic recommendations to support the growth of client relationships. You will know the tech industry and have some experience in the tech channel. You are known for creating lasting client relationships, meeting targets and have a keen interest in digital marketing strategy and the role of AI in innovation and strategy. 


Role responsibilities

  • You will inherit a portfolio of technology clients with targets to grow Transcends’ business within these accounts. Your balance of new versus existing clients will be 20:80.
  • Develop strategies to strengthen client relationships, manage and influence their experience ensuring our agency is a trusted partner for our clients.
  • Actively seek and identify opportunities for new services that align with our clients’ growth objectives and their channel’s priorities where applicable.
  • Maintain an understanding of your ongoing client projects, ensuring client relationships are in excellent standing.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, assessing needs and identifying gaps to offer relevant marketing and advisory services.
  • Develop and maintain detailed profiles of client accounts, prioritizing and categorizing for optimal engagement frequency.
  • Collaborate closely with our internal marketing team to have high performance campaigns executed consistently.
  • Fully leverage internal processes, including the CRM, reporting and proposal templates to maintain a streamlined approach to client management.
  • Drive excellence in the pre-sales through to delivery handoff, working with the project manager to ensure deliverables are accurate and on time.
  • Participate in internal meetings and client engagements, providing insights on client needs and collaborating on solutions.
  • Exhibit professional standards and integrity when engaging with clients, adhering to the agency’s culture of excellence.
  • Demonstrate a positive, collaborative approach, actively contributing to team goals and the agency’s growth objectives.
  • Follow all agency processes and quality procedures to ensure maintenance of documentation and compliance requirements.


About you

  • Engage with senior-level decision makers to Identify and pursue opportunities for growth within strategic accounts.
  • Drive regular conversations within assigned accounts to ensure successful retention of these key customers.
  • Ability to think strategically about a customer’s goals and drive renewal & expansion opportunities through to close independently.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and desire to define processes and build strategy.
  • Track record of proven sales experience, including target attainment of, at least, $1M annually.
  • 5+ years of account management experience within a technology driven environment and high level of marketing acumen. Bonus if these are within the Microsoft channel.
  • Strong relationships within the tech community at the senior management and director level.
  • Excel in a remote work, fast paced, team environment.
  • Highly proficient user of the full Microsoft 365 suite. Experience using HubSpot, Asana and Harvest is advantageous.  
  • Exceptional ability to lead, influence and work across organizational and geographic boundaries.
  • Demonstrated success in managing strategic accounts in the tech channel.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills with proven negotiation ability.
  • Ability to work independently, proactively identifying and pursuing growth opportunities.
  • Highly efficient time management, able to balance multiple accounts and projects.
  • University degree (or equivalent) in business, marketing, technology.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft co-sell and marketplace dynamics is highly advantageous.


Benefits

  • Uncapped commission
  • Employee (FTE) or contractor position
  • Canadian FTE: CAD $75,000 – $100,000 depending on experience and location, plus OTE
  • USA FTE: USD $75,000 – $140,000 depending on experience and location, plus OTE
  • USA Contractor: USD$65 – $80 per hour plus OTE
