Staff Software Engineer, DevOps Job Title: Staff DevOps Software Engineer Locations: Remote Canada Reports to: Director, Cloud Operations A high‑impact role that blends software engineering, DevOps and reliability principles to improve developer experience and system resilience. This position will help establish and employ Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery patterns and collaborate with other teams to deliver successful continuous delivery solutions. Responsibilities & Focus Areas Work with cloud‑native design, CI/CD, observability and reliability engineering to build scalable, resilient, and secure systems. Partner with software engineers, QA, security and operations to drive improvements. Education & Related Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent. 8+ years of experience architecting and building scalable software delivery solutions, including compute‑intensive workloads, and delivering solutions with high availability. Core Technical Strengths Software engineering background in .NET, Golang, Python, JavaScript. Strong hands‑on expertise with Terraform. Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, multi‑tenant SaaS, and cloud‑native design. Hands‑on experience with CI/CD platforms (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins, etc.). Strong background with AWS and Azure, including security, networking and DR strategies. Strong understanding of DevSecOps methodologies. Observability & Reliability Expertise Experience with OpenTelemetry (OTEL) and logging/metrics/tracing standards. Hands‑on experience with observability stacks such as LGTM, New Relic, DataDog, Dynatrace. Familiarity with synthetic monitoring, error budgets and SLI/SLO frameworks. Ability to design and implement observability pipelines for distributed systems. Experience That Gives You an Edge Cloud certifications in AWS, Azure, Kubernetes. Experience architecting or facilitating deployment of solutions on Kubernetes and designing cloud‑based solutions with fault tolerance, disaster recovery and security frameworks (OAuth, WS‑Security, encryption, etc.). Experience with Agile software development, Jira. Coaching and mentoring of DevOps engineers; thriving in cross‑functional teams. Application Process Prefer PDF or plain text resumes.
