Psychiatrist – Psychiatry Mental Health Team & Inpatient Psychiatrist Work Site: Richmond Hospital Employment Status: Full-Time (Perpetual) Start Date: As Soon as Possible (mutually agreed upon) Job Summary The Richmond Hospital Department of Psychiatry is seeking a psychiatrist to join our permanent team. This role encompasses two part‑time positions (0.5 FTE each) that can be scheduled with flexibility to meet clinical needs. The positions are dispersed between the Adult Mental Health Team (community‑based) and the In‑Patient Service (hospital‑based). The psychiatrist will provide assessment, treatment, and consultation to patients across medical and surgical wards, liaise with the Emergency Department, and collaborate with the primary care team for integrated patient care. Key Responsibilities Provide psychiatric assessment and treatment to patients admitted in medical and surgical wards. Consult with the Emergency Department and other clinical teams. Collaborate with primary care providers for integrated patient care. Manage long‑term care of serious and persistent mental health conditions within the Adult Mental Health Team, drawing referrals from family physicians, the Emergency Department, and the inpatient unit. Qualifications, Licensing & Experience Current registration with the College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) – Full License. Eligibility for Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP).
