About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 12 The Team: As a critical part of the Private Market Valuations team, the Data and Analytics Specialist will collaborate with valuation professionals to transform private valuations data into strategic insights. Our analyst teams serve over 600 institutional investors globally, covering a wide spectrum of asset classes and market conditions. Responsibilities & Impact: The Data and Analytics Specialist will play a vital role within the Private Asset Valuations team, focusing on enhancing our proprietary private market datasets and delivering valuable insights to enhance our overall service offerings. Opportunity to work in a growing business segment within S&P Global. Build relationships with leading clients across the private markets spectrum. Develop new skills in data analysis, index creation, and market insights. Advancing our data analytics strategy by developing frameworks that unveil actionable insights from complex datasets. Managing large volumes of data using the latest techniques and tools to ensure efficiency and accuracy in data processing and analysis. Developing and enhancing analytical models to better interpret valuation data and market conditions. Overseeing the design and continuous improvement of data-driven products, including interactive dashboards and detailed reports, while utilizing both proprietary techniques and best practices to effectively manage data assets Participating in data validation, quality assurance testing, and ongoing data health assessments to maintain high-quality datasets. Collaborating with valuation professionals to gather requirements, understand context, and collect feedback on analytical outputs, including dashboards. Working cross-functionally with other teams to conduct business analysis and contribute to data strategy development. What We’re Looking for: Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, or a related field; Solid experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, and index creation Strong understanding of financial concepts and terminology relevant to private markets. Proficiency in data visualization and analysis tools (e.g. Excel, SQL, Python, or R). Experience in developing and optimizing relational databases Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
