Overview Job#: Job Description: Cloud Platform Engineer – Azure & Automation Apex Systems is a global IT services provider with an opening for a Cloud Platform Engineer with extensive programming abilities (Python, Typescript or NodeJS), a strong cloud background (Azure and AWS), and DevOps experience to place at our client, a Big Five Bank. Client: Big Five Bank Terms: Contract through October 2026. Location: Hybrid (twice a month in-office preferred) with an office in Downtown Toronto; open to remote for the right candidate with EST working hours. Responsibilities Support the Bank’s cloud strategy, focusing on innovation and rapid adoption of cloud-native services to meet customer needs. Collaborate with the Cloud DevOps Automation Team to implement, deploy, and maintain the core Cloud Platforms across the Bank. Evolve the core cloud platform by applying emerging best practices and tools, securely connect to strategic cloud suppliers, and provide a platform for innovation for the Bank. Design, implement and integrate the Bank’s Cloud Platform, core, and shared services. Design, implement and manage hybrid cloud connectivity and intra-cloud networking. Develop patterns for automated provisioning, management, scalability, and security. Ensure all cloud solutions follow internal security and compliance standards and controls. Contribute to IaC modules: develop new modules and maintain existing ones. Design and plan enterprise-scale cloud environments including application dependencies, data storage and flow, network connectivity and overall cloud hosting. Develop and maintain up-to-date architectural templates and build operational documentation of the technical environment. Continuously enhance the capability, security, and experience of the enterprise hybrid cloud.
