Global Transaction Banking (GTB) is the payments and transaction engine of Scotiabank, supporting Small Business, Commercial and Corporate clients with treasury management solutions. As businesses evolve, payment needs evolve. GTB’s global footprint and innovative solutions generate efficiencies and mitigate risk. Purpose – The Assistant Manager will drive transformational operational capabilities, mitigate operational risks, and support innovative payment technologies in the high‑value payments space. What You’ll Do Ensure team initiatives are carried out, deadlines achieved, and duties adhered accurately. Develop deep understanding of end‑to‑end payment processes to implement target state processes. Participate in multi‑disciplinary programs, defining business requirements, testing, and monitoring progress. Support creation of target state Standard Operating Processes and consult with internal stakeholders. Deliver backlog items, ongoing testing, and refinement to optimize value. Work cross‑functionally in an agile environment with Design, Engineering, Analytics, and Business Stakeholders to deliver a world‑class customer experience. Apply the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in day‑to‑day activities and decisions. Ensure adequacy, adherence, and effectiveness of controls to meet operational risk, regulatory compliance, AML/ATF, and conduct risk obligations. What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, or equivalent. 3+ years in banking operations and cash management. Proven knowledge of high‑value payment domain (wire, SWIFT, ISO20022, FI Clearing, FMI). Agile mindset focused on delivering business value from operations transformations. Strong communication (written & verbal) and organizational skills. Advanced Excel, presentation skills, and data analysis. What's in it for you?
