Overview Transit Engineering Student – Hatch Hatch is seeking a Transit Engineering Student for an 8-month internship with interest in Transit engineering starting May 2026. Reporting to Transit, Project Development Engineers, you will support offices globally working from our Mississauga, ON head office. Responsibilities Be working as part of a design team, assisting with conceptual, preliminary and detailed design; site inspection; design calculations, report writing. Coordination with engineers, designers and related disciplines as required to assist with project deliverables. Preparing design submissions and other technical documents. You Bring To The Role Currently enrolled in Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or a Civil Design College Program. Relevant courses: Civil, Structural, Geotechnics, Utilities and Project Management are an asset. Knowledge of current technical engineering codes and practices. Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or Civil3D. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook). Problem solving skills and analytical abilities. Competencies (Knowledge, Skill, Attributes) Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects. Ability to learn quickly and to take on new challenges. Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Shows critical and creative thinking and problem solving and brings forward solutions for our clients\' toughest challenges. Adapts and embraces change. Compensation Range: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In accordance with legislated pay transparency requirements, the expected salary range for this position is based on current market data and aligned with internal pay structures to ensure consistency and fairness. Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location. In addition to base pay, our total rewards package may include performance-based incentives, comprehensive benefits, and other programs designed to support your well-being and growth.
