Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Mechanics, Avionics, Structures with Dash 8 Experience

Position Profile

We are currently recruiting for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers with Q400 and/or Twin Otter type courses (preferred).

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Accurately interpret manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, system schematics, engineering orders, test documents and manufacturer's installation manuals
  • Repair and fabricate parts as per drawings and standard practices.
  • Have a basic understanding of other aircraft systems.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanics, structures and avionics systems.
  • Perform system checks and inspections.
  • Keep accurate records of all work performed and maintain inventory of tools and equipment
  • Maintain a clean work area and alert the leadership team of any safety concerns; take immediate action or report immediately any unsafe conditions
  • Responsible for ensuring both accuracy and traceability of parts removed or installed on Aircraft
  • Perform other work as assigned and willing to work shift work
  • Safely operate ground support equipment, i.e., power carts, lifts (when properly trained), etc. as required

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years' experience working on the Dash 8 preferred
  • TC AME license preferred
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Internet
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Possess the knowledge expected of an Aircraft Mechanic, Structures Technician or Avionics Technician on aircraft types handled by the Company.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work 6 days per week
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to acquire a Transport Canada issued Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
