La personne retenue sera responsable de la souscription des prêts commerciaux traditionnels et à la construction au sein d’une équipe commerciale dynamique et en pleine croissance. Elle devra respecter les politiques et les normes de souscription établies, respecter les exigences de conformité et de contrôle, tout en trouvant des solutions novatrices rapidement afin d’atteindre les objectifs de service et les volumes cibles annuels. D’autres tâches administratives et liées au crédit sont également requises, comme la production de rapports et la gestion des dossiers, ainsi que le réseautage avec des partenaires commerciaux externes et divers membres du personnel du Financement commercial et d’autres services internes.
As part of a growing and dynamic commercial team, the Senior Commercial Mortgage Underwriter is responsible for the underwriting of construction and conventional commercial loans. The Senior Underwriter must adhere to established policies and underwriting standards, meeting compliance and control requirements, while finding creative solutions in a timely manner in order to achieve service goals as well as annual volume targets. Additional credit-related and administrative duties are also required such as reporting and pipeline management as well as networking with external business partners along with various staff within the Commercial department & other internal departments
Le Travail / The Work
  • Consacrer quotidiennement 60 % de son temps à l’analyse et la souscription des facilités de crédit commerciales et effectuer des tâches administratives et liées au crédit pour tous les types de produits hypothécaires. Les prêts traditionnels et à la construction vont de 2,5 millions de dollars à 50 millions de dollars. Veiller à ce que les lignes directrices et les procédures établies de l’organisation en matière de prêt soient respectées et à ce que les recommandations soient soumises à l’approbation de la direction. S’assurer que tous les critères de prêt ont été satisfaits pour les transactions souscrites et que les documents/conditions en suspens, le cas échéant, sont respectés en temps opportun.
  • Consacrer quotidiennement 20 % de son temps à la communication avec des contacts externes (partenaires à l’émission) et internes (bailleurs de fonds, gestionnaires, administrateurs et personnel de vente de prêts hypothécaires commerciaux) pour que les transactions soient traitées rapidement et efficacement afin d’offrir un service à la clientèle supérieur et de respecter les échéances de financement
  • Consacrer quotidiennement 10 % de son temps à ses responsabilités en matière de gestion de son flux de transactions afin de respecter les délais prescrits
  • Consacrer mensuellement 10 % de son temps à diverses tâches administratives et de production de rapports requises par le service ou l’organisation, sur lesquelles compte la haute direction
  • 60% on a daily basis, the incumbent will analyze and underwrite commercial credit facilities together with additional credit related and administrative duties, for all mortgage product types. Construction and conventional loans range in size from $2.5 million up to $50.0 million. Attention must be made to ensure that compliance with the company’s established lending guidelines and procedures are followed with recommendations submitted for approval to management. The incumbent is responsible to ensure all lending criteria have been satisfied on deals underwritten and outstanding documentation/conditions, if any, are being met in a timely manner
  • 20% on a daily basis, the incumbent will communicate with external contacts (origination partners) and internal contacts (funders, managers, administrators, and commercial mortgage sales staff) to ensure transactions are processed in a timely and efficient manner in order to deliver superior customer service and funding deadlines
  • 10% on a daily basis, the incumbent is responsible for time management of their deal flow in order to meet prescribed deadlines
  • 10% on a monthly basis, the incumbent will be responsible for various administrative and reporting duties required for the department/Company which will be relied upon by Senior Management

  • Diplôme d’études postsecondaires de préférence, surtout en administration des affaires ou en finance
  • Bonne connaissance pratique de MS Office (principalement Word et Excel)
  • Compétences efficaces en matière d’analyse et de résolution de problèmes
  • Sens aigu des affaires combiné à une solide connaissance technique des prêts garantis et des facteurs influant sur le marché hypothécaire commercial

  • Proficient underwriting skills preferably with a minimum 5 years commercial mortgage experience
  • Demonstrated service excellence within their field
  • Post-secondary education (diploma/degree) preferred , preferably in business or finance
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office (primarily word and excel)
  • Effective analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong business sense combined with sound technical knowledge of secured lending and factors affecting the commercial mortgage market
