Security Program Lead - Nuclear Construction Location: Darlington, ON, CA / Oshawa, ON, CA Requisition: Job Level: Mid Level Home District/Group: Kiewit Nuclear Solutions Department: Safety Market: Nuclear Employment Type: Full Time Position Overview Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of security programs for Kiewit Nuclear Solutions’ construction projects, ensuring alignment with project standards and regulatory requirements. District Overview Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is a full-service engineering, project management, and construction provider operating across North America. Our experience spans the nuclear market, from small modular reactors to DOE science and environmental missions, as well as power utilities, renewable energy, industrial, and infrastructure markets. Location The position will be based on our project in Darlington, ON. Responsibilities Define, develop, and create security programs and strategies aligned with project standards. Identify security risks and gaps, implementing processes to eliminate them. Oversee the implementation of security policies and procedures, ensuring validation and effectiveness. Provide guidance and mentorship to a team of security professionals on processes and culture. Manage incident reporting and response, communicating effectively and handling documentation. Support auditing processes by preparing documentation and ensuring compliance with legal legislation and regulations. Continuously assess the security program, identifying improvement areas. Verify on‑site activities and security requirements through regular audits (worker under exemption, visitor, etc.). Collaborate with stakeholders, external partners, and other departments. Perform other tasks as needed. Qualifications Minimum 8 years of experience as a Security Manager. Valid Ontario Security/Guard License is preferred. Experience in industrial sites (Oil & Gas, Chemical, etc.). Strong understanding of security principles and practices. Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making skills. Experience working on a construction site is an asset. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written). Organizational and time‑management skills. Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds. Must be able to work in various weather conditions. Other Requirements Regular, reliable attendance. Work productively and meet deadlines. Communicate and interact effectively in a professional environment. Perform work safely and follow instructions, including warning signs and policies. Work during normal operating hours and be available for overtime and weekends as required. May work at varied locations; conditions may vary.
