Data Analyst – Power BI

Location: Toronto Role: Data Analyst with strong technical and communication skills. This role involves working closely with business leads and executives to translate data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in SQL, relational databases, and experience with Business Intelligence tools, preferably Power BI. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reports using BI tools (Power BI preferred). Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction and analysis. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver data-driven solutions. Present findings and insights clearly to non-technical audiences, including executives. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with organizational standards. Ideal Candidate Traits Strong SQL capabilities with at least 5 years of experience (query writing, optimization, troubleshooting). Strong understanding of relational databases and data warehouses. Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement and executive presentations. Experience as a BI Developer, ideally with Power BI. Nice-to-Have Background in insurance or related industry. Exposure to CloudSQL or BigQuery environments.
