The Office of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, Precinct Properties Branch (PPB) is responsible for all capital works renovation and restoration projects, mechanical and electrical infrastructure upgrades, repairs, and the day‑to‑day maintenance of the Legislative building and grounds. PPB is seeking a dedicated student who intends to commit to this challenging, complex profession. The student’s primary function will be to digitise archival documents; this may include tasks such as scanning, labelling, and recording information. This internship will provide students with an opportunity to be a member of our multi‑disciplinary team consisting of architects, engineers, conservators, researchers and industry specialists, and will be in the office for the duration of the co‑op (January 2026 – April 2026). What You’ll Do Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and independence from political influences Act in conformity with the law and established policies Exhibit the utmost tact, diplomacy and confidentiality at all times Support branch staff by carrying out various administrative duties (i.e. filing, printing, etc.) Undertake the process of digitising historic documents and project files to expand our digital archive Assist branch project staff with producing architectural drawings and graphic materials Contribute to the design process by utilising various software platforms, including AutoCAD, the Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, and the Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel) Assist branch staff with project‑related research Participate in the review of design documents and contract administration Attend project team meetings Other general clerical duties as required How You Qualify Proof of enrollment and currently enrolled in an accredited post‑secondary program full‑time for Winter/Spring 2026, working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Engineering Ability to work in an integrated office that utilizes a dynamic team of architects, engineers, conservators, researchers and industry specialists Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions Ability to read and comprehend architectural drawings Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment or independently as required for assignments Excellent judgement and problem‑solving skills Creative design portfolio is an asset Strong communication, teamwork, graphics and organisational skills are essential If you join our team, you can expect To work with a team of dedicated professionals A dynamic working environment If you’re ambitious, passionate, and ready to make your mark, seize the opportunity by selecting “Apply Now” at the bottom of the page.
