Storage Architect Hunter Scouts is seeking a Contract Storage Architect to support a federal government client in the Ottawa area. In this role you will be responsible for installing, configuring, monitoring, upgrading and maintaining Dell EMC storage systems and associated operating environments. This is a hands‑on, technically senior position that includes off‑hours/on‑call support and hybrid on‑site work in Ottawa. The opportunity is ideal for an experienced enterprise storage engineer who has worked in regulated, change‑controlled environments and holds an active Government of Canada Secret security clearance. Responsibilities Install, configure, monitor, upgrade, patch and maintain Dell EMC storage systems and their operating environments Perform health checks, capacity planning and performance tuning for storage infrastructure Plan and execute firmware/OS upgrades, lifecycle maintenance and changes with minimal downtime in change‑controlled environments Provide off‑hours and on‑call support for incidents and planned maintenance windows Maintain documentation, runbooks and change records for storage systems Collaborate with infrastructure, network and application teams to ensure availability, resiliency and compliance Follow government security policies and processes for Secret‑level environments Requirements Location: Based within a 50‑mile radius of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and able to work on‑site in a hybrid capacity 5–8 years' experience in enterprise storage engineering or architecture Active Government of Canada Secret (Level II) security clearance 3+ years hands‑on experience installing, monitoring, upgrading and maintaining Dell EMC (EMC) storage systems in production Right to work in Canada (no employer sponsorship expected) and willingness to provide off‑hours/on‑call support Preferred Skills Experience with Dell EMC management tools and operating environments (Unisphere, Solutions Enabler, OneFS/Isilon) SAN/NAS architecture experience, Fibre Channel zoning and multipathing Experience with storage automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) Backup, replication and disaster recovery planning for EMC storage Prior experience working with Canadian federal departments or highly regulated environments Job Details Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level Employment type: Contract Job function: Information Technology, Engineering, and Project Management Industries: IT Services and IT Consulting Location: Ottawa, Ontario, Canada - Hybrid (on‑site in Ottawa required) #J-18808-Ljbffr
