Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Senior Engineer (Electrical Design) Location: Singapore, SG Posting Date: Oct 14, 2025 Job ID: 13072 About our group: The Sputter Equipment Development Engineering (SpEDE) team develops innovative engineering solutions across mechanical, electrical/electronics, PLC, software & controls, and advanced analytics. We design, build and support ultra-high vacuum (UHV) sputter machines. This includes driving upgrades to improve OEE, reduce downtime, enhance process capabilities, and support new product conversions. Our team is committed to cost reduction, productivity improvement, and defect reduction in disk media processing. About the role - you will: Lead and manage complex technical assignments in the electrical design and development of disk media processing equipment. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment. Drive design reviews, ensuring compliance with safety standards for high voltage/high power systems. Oversee troubleshooting and root cause analysis using advanced test equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, frequency generators). Architect and optimize cable and PCB designs for vacuum components (gauges, MFCs, valves, turbo controllers). Design, upgrade and troubleshoot Power Distribution Units (PDU) for disk processing equipment. Champion configuration control using software tools (SAP, Windchill) and ensure robust documentation practices. Design and implement industrial networks (Beckhoff & Siemens), including EtherCAT, Profinet & ProfiBUS for equipment integration. Develop and validate programmable logic controller (PLC) hardware solutions and safety interlocks for equipment reliability. Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, software, process, and manufacturing teams to deliver innovative solutions. Lead projects from concept to completion, managing timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations. About you: Demonstrate innovation, integrity, and inclusion in all aspects of work. Your experience includes: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical systems design and troubleshooting for semiconductor or disk media tools (RF plasma, PVD, CVD, etch processes). Proven experience in EMI/EMC safety compliance, including S2/S7 and UL/TUV safety audits for high power systems (480VAC, 200Amps+). Track record of driving change, providing superior technical support, and collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Experience leading projects and mentoring junior engineers. You might also have: Experience working in high-tech environments. Advanced knowledge of RF circuit design/troubleshooting. Expertise in digital, analog, and mixed-signal design. Industrial automation/motion and PDU design experience (480VAC/200Amp+). Familiarity with HAMR media, thin film, high vacuum, PVD, CVD, ICP, and Ion Beam technologies.
