Role Summary: Responsible for monitoring and controlling project costs throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborates with project managers and engineers to develop budgets, track expenses, analyze variances, and recommend strategies to optimize costs and schedules. Key Responsibilities Develop project budgets in collaboration with project managers and engineers. Track project expenses and compare against budgets to identify cost variances. Analyze cost variances and recommend strategies for addressing overruns or leveraging savings. Prepare accurate cost reports and forecasts for stakeholders. Develop cost estimates for change orders and project modifications. Review contractor invoices for accuracy and compliance with budgets and contracts. Provide recommendations to optimize project costs and schedules based on analysis. Communicate cost-related issues and recommendations to project managers, engineers, and senior management. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Experience as a Cost Engineer or Project Controls Specialist in construction or engineering. Strong knowledge of cost management principles: estimating, budgeting, and cost control. Proficiency in project management tools (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
