Taiv is hiring all levels of experience, from junior developers right out of school to principal engineers with decades of experience. Who We Are Taiv is a fast‑growing tech startup located in Winnipeg, Canada. Taiv uses AI to make business TV more fun, engaging, profitable, and easier to manage, starting with bars and restaurants. We have built proprietary tech that uses computer vision to watch live TV and improve content with contextually‑aware commercials, content, and games. Our technology also automates the manual AV tasks that venues perform every day, making bar management easier, standardized, and more profitable. We're venture‑capital backed and graduated from Y Combinator, the world's top tech accelerator, in winter 2020. Who We're Looking For We are seeking 12 software developers who work hard, want to grow with the company, and are eager to contribute early. The role focuses on Android, web, and backend development, but as a small team everyone wears many hats. You will have a lot of responsibility and ownership of the projects you work on, helping to solve our toughest problems and building systems that scale to millions. Key Experience Experience: 0‑100 years Compensation and title are dependent on experience Requirements Understanding of industry‑standard software development cycles and best practices Hardworking and a fast learner Passionate about startups with a desire for meaningful impact Bachelor's Degree (preferred) Located in Winnipeg or willing to relocate Nice to Haves Experience with OpenCV and computer vision Experience building and operating IoT fleets Entrepreneurially minded Experience with major cloud providers Strong understanding of performance‑critical video and machine learning pipelines Our Tech We craft our own hardware and employ a heuristics‑based computer vision approach for classification. We are the first (and only) company in the world that can detect TV commercials accurately. Our detection algorithm runs on a custom‑designed TV box manufactured in‑house. We have thousands of boxes deployed in 850+ venues and continue to expand daily. We also maintain several web apps built in React for customers and internal operations. Core Skills JSX/TSX (React and React Native) TypeScript C/C++ OpenCV Computer Vision Proficiency with Unix You don't need to know all of these, but we expect a strong willingness to learn quickly.
