COLTENE is a global leader in the development, manufacture and sale of consumables and small-size equipment for dental treatment applications. We currently have an opening for a Junior Desktop Technician to join our team.

Reporting to the Senior Manger, IT , the Junior Helpdesk Technician will provide first-level technical support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and assist in maintaining and upgrading the organization's desktop, Laptop systems. This is an entry-level position with room for growth and development in the IT field.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide end-user support for desktop and laptop hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to operating systems (Windows, Linux), applications, and peripherals.
  • Perform hardware repairs and upgrades, including memory, storage, and peripheral devices.
  • Assist with the setup, configuration, and deployment of desktop systems, including operating systems, software applications, and network configurations.
  • Respond to and resolve user service desk requests via phone, email, or in-person.
  • Maintain accurate records of support requests, solutions, and hardware/software inventory.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining printers, scanners, and other peripheral devices.
  • Support software installations, updates, and system patches.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures, including password management and data protection.
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure that all technical issues are resolved in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of desktop operating systems (Windows, Linux) and software applications.
  • Familiarity with hardware components and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience with networking concepts and troubleshooting (Wi-Fi, VPN, etc.) is a plus.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Educational and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Associate's degree or technical certification (A+, Network+, or similar) is preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in a technical support or IT-related role is a plus but not required.

Additional Skills:

  • Willingness to learn and stay up to date with new technologies and industry trends.
  • Time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
