Junior Desktop Technician

COLTENE is a global leader in the development, manufacture and sale of consumables and small-size equipment for dental treatment applications. We currently have an opening for a Junior Desktop Technician to join our team.
Reporting to the Senior Manger, IT , the Junior Helpdesk Technician will provide first-level technical support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and assist in maintaining and upgrading the organization's desktop, Laptop systems. This is an entry-level position with room for growth and development in the IT field.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide end-user support for desktop and laptop hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to operating systems (Windows, Linux), applications, and peripherals.
- Perform hardware repairs and upgrades, including memory, storage, and peripheral devices.
- Assist with the setup, configuration, and deployment of desktop systems, including operating systems, software applications, and network configurations.
- Respond to and resolve user service desk requests via phone, email, or in-person.
- Maintain accurate records of support requests, solutions, and hardware/software inventory.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining printers, scanners, and other peripheral devices.
- Support software installations, updates, and system patches.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures, including password management and data protection.
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure that all technical issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of desktop operating systems (Windows, Linux) and software applications.
- Familiarity with hardware components and troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience with networking concepts and troubleshooting (Wi-Fi, VPN, etc.) is a plus.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Associate's degree or technical certification (A+, Network+, or similar) is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in a technical support or IT-related role is a plus but not required.
Additional Skills:
- Willingness to learn and stay up to date with new technologies and industry trends.
- Time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
