What we are looking for The Vice President of Finance & Controller, Canada, will be a key finance leader for Fiera Capital Corporation (FCC) and will report directly to the Senior Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer. The Vice President of Finance & Controller, Canada will be responsible for all aspects of the financial Controllership of Fiera Capital Corporation and will have overall responsibility for the financial statements of Fiera's various funds domiciled in Canada with various public market and private market strategies. In addition, this role will have responsibility for statutory filings and the annual audited non‑consolidated financial statements of Fiera Capital Corporation and supporting the group Company audit; production of the fund's financial statements and other continuous disclosure requirements in accordance with local regulations and managing the related funds audit; and day‑to‑day financial management. Further, the Vice President of Finance, Canada, will be responsible for supporting treasury and tax‑related matters for the Canadian legal entities and will have a team of up to 8 finance professionals reporting into them, and will work closely with the Global Controllership Team, Fund Administration Team, Corporate Accounting, Treasury, Billings, Tax and FP&A and will be involved with special projects as required. The role will be based in Toronto, Canada and travel will be required to other Fiera locations, from time to time. Your responsibilities Lead the accounting and financial reporting requirements related to the preparation of the audited non‑consolidated financial statements of Fiera Capital Corporation, in accordance with IFRS. Production of the funds financial statement and other continuous disclosure requirements in accordance with local rules and regulations. Assume lead role in the annual audit of the funds and present to the funds internal audit committee which includes preparing presentation materials as required to support the approval of the fund's financial statements. Participate in the custodian/administrator governance, oversight and working relationship with the administrators financial reporting team. Supporting Corporate Finance in the preparation of the quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements of Fiera Capital Corporation (FCC) and related financial analysis and presentations, as required. Supporting Corporate FP&A in the development of forecasts and annual budgets for Fiera Capital Canada. Ensuring all financial regulatory and compliance matters related to Fiera Capital Corporation are appropriately adhered to. Provide support for all Corporate Treasury and Tax related matters in the region. Development of a strong and scalable accounting team to manage the month‑end close process to producing accurate financial results in an efficient manner and to facilitate management reporting views (including by division and by country). Development of accounting policies and practices which are consistent with Global and Corporate policies that are well documented. Ensuring appropriate internal controls are designed and operating effectively in support of CEO and CFO internal control certification. Building a strong accounting and finance team and providing coaching and mentorship to ensure their continuous professional development. Manage relationship with external auditors. Must have requirements to be successful in this role Education & Accreditation CPA, CA designation University degree in Accounting or Commerce Experience & Specific Skills Minimum of 15 years of professional experience, including 7‑10 years of progressive management experience in Asset Management in Corporate Finance and Fund Accounting. Prior big 4 accounting firm experience. Strong leadership and ability to develop employees, provide guidance, direction and training, and promote a positive working environment. Solid technical accounting knowledge under IFRS and the ability to interpret complex technical accounting issues and implement practical solutions. Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deliverables concurrently. Drive for continuous improvement, leveraging and adapting system functionality and challenging existing processes. Strong strategic skills, including the ability to leverage resources (people, processes, departments, tools) and collaborate to complete objectives effectively and efficiently. Strong decision making and problem‑solving skills, including the ability to independently and collaboratively gather, formulate and analyze data to support recommendations to senior management. Excellent research skills. Proven ability to confidently and effectively interact with all levels of the organization and to build strong working relationships in a team‑oriented, deadline driven environment. Experience with SAP S/4Hana and SAP Group Reporting and Workiva is considered an asset.
