Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. We’re looking for a Specialist, Specialty solutions, to join our growing Energy team What you’ll do here: Support the strategic product development plan to achieve growth targets. Develop guidelines, authority statements and manage the referral process to support performance and underwriting. Gather market intelligence by working directly with distribution, brokers and customers and compare Intact's product offering to the competition. Research technology-based solutions for pricing, underwriting, risk assessment and loss mitigation opportunities. Collaborate with internal teams to explore new growth and profitability opportunities through technical research and relationship building. Assist in portfolio management through governance best practices, profitability and growth analysis. Perform technical underwriting audit. Communicate changes related underwriting guidelines and new products. Provide underwriting training, lending expertise colleagues and distribution underwriters. What you bring to the table: University degree/College diploma or any combination of equivalent education and experience. Minimum 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in insurance industry, 3-5 years in energy underwriting. Highly organized, with the ability to work towards goals while adapting to change in a fast paced environment. Strong communication skills, including the ability to persuade as well as challenge others. Can deal effectively and respectfully with individuals at all levels of the organization. Effective analytical, negotiating and decision-making skills. Can work well under tight deadlines, including organizational and time management skills. High level of integrity, confidentiality and accountability. Digital and Data Acumen, understanding how these two items can support and facilitate the customer and Underwriters experience. CIP is a must and FCIP and/or CRM designation is an asset. Willing to travel on occasion. No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
