The organization also delivers some province‑wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Position Overview Supervise daily clinical service delivery and operational issues in a designated service area, providing higher‑level decision‑making, problem‑solving, and judgment. Provide guidance, clinical leadership, mentoring, supervision, education, evaluation, and research to occupational therapists and support staff. Contribute to the delivery of quality occupational therapy services by examining, developing, refining, and evaluating clinical practices and assisting in program planning, development, and evaluation. Assist with performance appraisals, recruitment, and coordinate clinical work schedules, caseloads, and service rotations. Maintain a partial clinical caseload and collaborate with clients through assessment, interventions, follow‑up, planning, and designing services to meet occupational performance goals. Experience Minimum of three years of recent occupational therapy experience in a large complex environment with at least two years in the designated service area. Supervisory experience is preferred. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Entry‑to‑practice academic credential in Occupational Therapy from a Canadian university program, or an approved equivalent if internationally educated (as determined by the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba). Post‑graduate research degree in Occupational Therapy or related field, or other relevant post‑graduate degree, preferred. Working knowledge of healthcare administration and integrated hospital information systems, e.g., INFOMED, is an asset. Training in fiscal and human resource management preferred. Completion of and ongoing participation in relevant continuing professional education required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Certification / Licensure / Registration Registration is required with the College of Occupational Therapists of Manitoba (COTM). Membership with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists and the Manitoba Society of Occupational Therapists preferred. Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements in accordance with employer policy. Qualifications and Skills Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships. Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills. Competency in an Indigenous language and knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values preferred. Ability to work cooperatively with other disciplines. Demonstrated professional judgment and initiative. Knowledge of the physical, social, cultural, and economic aspects of client care. Effective organizational, interpersonal, critical thinking, clinical reasoning, conflict resolution, and decision‑making skills. Ability to adapt to new concepts, techniques, and best practice in healthcare knowledge. Working knowledge of computer software programs (word processing, spreadsheets, databases, email). Knowledge of regulations and scope of practice documents for Occupational Therapy and support workers. Leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills. Sound knowledge of evidence‑informed and evidence‑based practice. Working knowledge of research/program evaluation methodology. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Ability to critically evaluate and apply relevant knowledge to practice. Ability to function in a demanding and stressful environment. Initiate, support, and implement change. Delegate appropriately and monitor outcomes of delegation. Prioritize workload and attend to operations in a timely manner. Commitment to continued professional development. Knowledge of integrated hospital information systems (e.g., occupational therapy workload measurement system). Understanding of the vision and strategic directions of the region, facility/program, and profession. Physical Requirements Demonstrate adequate strength, agility, motor coordination, and dexterity for therapeutic techniques. May be required to work evenings, weekends, or occasionally extended hours. Exposure to infectious diseases, blood, bodily fluids, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress. Possibility of encountering aggressive or agitated clients, visitors, or staff. This term position may end earlier as outlined in the collective agreement.
