Department Overview Motorola’s Access Control Division’s (previously OpenPath, now Avigilon Alta) mission is to improve your workday with smart office technology at your front door. We are looking for candidates who can help us build, scale and innovate as we develop our industry‑leading platform for access control and office automation. Job Description We are seeking a Software Project Manager to lead complex software development projects from initiation through completion. The Project Manager will work closely with the Product Manager to successfully plan, develop, and launch new software products and features on time, within scope, and according to quality standards. Responsibilities Define project scope, goals, and deliverables aligned on business objectives. Outline and manage project plans and timelines corresponding with product development roadmaps. Create project plans that provide sufficient time for each phase in the SDLC while maintaining urgency. Map out NPI and GTM plans to support product launch timelines. Ensure compliance needs are factored into product development roadmaps. Deliver projects on‑time and within scope. Monitor and track progress using appropriate project management tools. Manage scope, schedule, and timeline changes and keep stakeholders aware. Track milestones, deliverables, and change requests. Identify and mitigate risks and resolve issues proactively. Lead, motivate, and coordinate project teams, ensuring effective collaboration. Coordinate internal resources, cross‑functional teams, and manage external third parties/vendors. Facilitate effective communication between team members and stakeholders. Interface with clients and stakeholders to manage expectations and provide status updates. Coordinate stakeholder, marketing, and training efforts to correspond with product launch dates. Serve as liaison, communicating milestones and changes. Plan and facilitate meetings, ensuring productive dialogue and clear action items. Report and elevate issues and project risks to management as needed. Implement agile methodologies and best practices to enhance efficiency. Provide leadership in process analysis and improvement, focusing on change management. Ensure software quality standards are adequately planned for. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, records, and reports. Conduct post‑project evaluations to identify lessons learned. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Risk Management, Management Information Systems, or related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered. Experience: Minimum 3+ years of project management experience within software development environments. Proven track record of managing software projects from inception to completion. Proficiency in JIRA, Microsoft Project, or Trello. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Demonstrated experience in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment. Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, strong organizational skills, collaborative leadership, analytical problem‑solving, proactive approach, critical thinking, stakeholder communication, and relationship building. Desired Qualifications Experience managing large‑scale projects. Technical background in software development or engineering. Working knowledge of Compliance and Operational Risk Management. Experience working with offshore development teams or remote teams. Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification. Agile certification (Certified ScrumMaster).
