The effective date of this appointment is tentatively planned for late 2026, or early 2027. The successful candidate will join a division of four cardiac surgeons with clinical and academic activities focused on surgical revascularization, mitral valve repair, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, structural heart disease, cardiac surgery trials and teaching excellence. The successful candidate will contribute to the academic mandate of the Hospital and University through scholarship, education, and creative professional activities. The successful candidate will be a cardiac surgeon with recognized subspecialty training in aortic surgery and structural heart disease. The candidate will have, or be working towards a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in a relevant field and will be eligible for an appointment in the Department of Surgery, University of Toronto at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, as a Surgeon-Scientist, Surgeon-Investigator or Surgeon-Teacher. Advanced clinical training in the form of a fellowship will be considered an asset. Excellence in clinical care, a record of academic achievement, and a commitment to teaching and mentorship are pre-requisites. A demonstrated record of professionalism and collaboration is required and a key feature of the Department of Surgery.
