Position: Senior Production Accountant

Lycos is actively seeking a full-time Senior Production Accountant to join our team in the Calgary office. This position will report to the Controller. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the accounting and operations teams and be responsible for efficiently and effectively performing day-to-day production accounting functions. Key responsibilities will include:

Production

  • Set up new wells, batteries, 3rd party locations in Petronet;
  • Third Party receipt analysis and confirmation;
  • Reconcile and investigate any Prodman and third party volume discrepancies;
  • Prepare workbooks to balance facilities and create uploads;
  • Load Data into Petronet for process, review and reporting;
  • Provide oil and gas splits to partners and sales points;
  • Distribute reports to TIK (Take In Kind) partners;
  • Submit oil splits on Petrotranz;
  • Upload and review Alberta Petrinex volumetric data submissions to meet regulatory deadlines;
  • Work with Government, Partners and 3rd party to correct any volumetric imbalances;
  • Input and process monthly Alberta Petrinex SAF/OAF data submissions to meet regulatory deadlines;

Regulatory

  • Ensure compliance with Enhanced Production Audit Process (EPAP) controls and Joint Venture Agreements;
  • Support the EPAP Audit Process and ensure compliance with Directive 017 reporting requirements in Petrinex;
  • PAD – Investigate any issue that may appear on the Production Allocation Discrepancy (PAD) Report;
  • CAI – Follow up with Operations staff for any items that may appear on the Compliance Assessor Indicator Report (CAI);
  • Work with Measurement Team to review Schematic Delineation and Reporting for properties;

Revenue / Financial

  • Ensure volume and financial data of revenue being paid is the correct amount and accurately represents volumes on split letters; investigate any imbalances;
  • Enter/process revenue in Petronet, generate and review voucher, and upload into JV Nexus;
  • Calculate Crown, Freehold and GORR royalties, respond to queries, investigate discrepancies;
  • Calculate and submit IOGC and NPR (Oil Sands) royalties;
  • Reconcile APMC invoice and book entries into JV Nexus;
  • Create and manage the outgoing invoices to partners or third parties as per our fee structure on the Joint Venture agreements;

Analysis

  • Review volumes, prices, royalties and third party charges monthly;
  • Review overhead and processing fees;
  • Assists or responds to Equalization, Payout and Audit queries (Internal and External);


Qualifications:

  • CAPPA certification required;
  • Minimum of 5 Years of experience in Alberta Production and Revenue Accounting, working knowledge of Saskatchewan Production Accounting an asset ;
  • Knowledgeable on current Provincial rules and regulations;
  • Excellent understanding of production accounting and financial processes required;
  • Experience with JV Nexus and Petronet;
  • Strong working knowledge of Petrinex;
  • Strong MS Excel knowledge
