We're based just north of San Francisco but are a permanently remote team and we are looking to add to our team in Canada. About the Role As a Search Consultant, you will lead and execute retained searches by deeply understanding client objectives, quickly grasping emerging technologies, and assessing talent through a curiosity-driven interviewing approach. You’ll collaborate directly with clients, build trusted relationships with candidates, and work hand-in-hand with our research and administrative teams to deliver a seamless and thoughtful search experience. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a remote setting, values clear communication, and enjoys contributing to a positive, collaborative team dynamic. What You’ll Be Doing Partnering directly with clients to understand their hiring needs and maintain an ongoing, collaborative relationship Interviewing and evaluating candidates using a thoughtful, curiosity-driven approach Guiding and supporting research teams in sourcing top-tier candidates Preparing high-quality candidate submission reports for clients Assisting clients with offer development and negotiation Quickly learning and understanding clients’ emerging technologies across the Climate Tech and Deep Tech sectors Representing Berkner Group with professionalism, empathy, and clear communication What We’re Looking For A strong academic background (BS, MS, MBA, or PhD) paired with experience in executive recruiting or a relevant business field (e.g., operations, HR, sales, business development, nonprofit development) Experience in one or more sectors we cover, such as Renewable Energy, Electric Mobility, Energy Efficiency, Advanced Energy Storage, GridTech, Low-Carbon Fuels & Cement, Hydrogen, Industrial Biotech & Green Chemistry, Carbon Removal, Sustainable AgTech & FoodTech, Circular Economy & Advanced Materials, Robotics & Autonomy, and other emerging Climate Technologies. Experience working with startups, whether in-house or via an agency Ability to quickly understand new and innovative technologies Strong written and verbal communication skills A positive, team-oriented mindset with the ability to balance urgency and diplomacy High energy, a strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for recruiting Comfort working in a remote environment The ability to maintain at least some overlap with Pacific Time hours Authorization to work in Canada A professional Zoom or virtual work environment Excitement about joining a growing company with significant long-term career potential A well-presented, clearly written professional profile This is an internal position with The Berkner Group.
