ABOUT OUR OPERATION Agnico Eagle is always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut mining operations. Meliadine is located just northwest of Rankin Inlet, a small coastal town on the shores of Hudson Bay. Commercial production began at Meliadine in mid‑May 2019 and the mine officially opened at the end of June. This mine is our largest gold deposit in terms of mineral resources and we expect to operate it for at least 14 years. The site features a power plant and processing facilities, as well as a complete camp complex. YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE Are you a student in trades? Are you looking for an opportunity to get your Red Seal? Here is an opportunity for those who are looking to pursue a career in the trade of their choice. Where we can help you get your hours for your Red Seal Certificate. The trades offered by AEM are: Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (heavy duty mechanic), Oil Heating System Technician, Millwright (Industrial Mechanic), Housing Maintainer and Electrician (industrial). Important note: A contract won't be given until the apprentice has passed the pre‑trades test. Limited openings per program, if the program is full – the applications will be held for future openings. WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED Already enrolled as an apprentice with the GN is an asset. A copy of the GN apprentice registration card must be submitted with the application; Successful in Pre‑Trades Entrance Exam within the last 2 years. The Pre‑Trades Entrance Exam results must be submitted with the application; Having the capacity to be successful in your Pre‑Trades Entrance Exam (Mock‑Exam will be given to those who have not taken their Pre‑Trade Entrance Exam); Employee must be willing to move temporarily for educational purposes; Commitment in the apprenticeship program and willing to work under AEM for 3-4 years, for the duration of the apprenticeship program; Position reserved for Inuit Beneficiary candidates.
