Apply engineering and AI skills to healthcare innovation at Sunnybrook Research Institute in Toronto during a temporary full-time internship.
The Medventions intern supports a four-month rehabilitation innovation project with clinicians, engineers, researchers, and rehabilitation professionals. You will validate a defined clinical need, assess existing workflows, develop technical solutions, and explore clinical translation. Work may involve 3D imaging, computer vision, computational design, CAD, additive manufacturing, or prototyping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in clinical immersion and stakeholder engagement
- Validate assumptions and refine technical requirements
- Develop, test, and prototype technical solutions
- Assess usability, workflows, and implementation considerations
- Explore translation, regulatory, intellectual property, and commercialization pathways
Requirements:
- Technical background in engineering, computer science, or related fields
- Experience in one or more listed technical areas
- Curiosity and interest in clinical problems
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada
- Relevant student, graduate, postdoctoral, or early-career status
