The successful applicant will join the Zonda Satellite team and will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering the cutting‑edge software applications and tools that power Zonda’s flagship product, Enterprise. As a senior member of the engineering team, you will collaborate closely with staff engineers, product managers, and cross‑functional partners, taking ownership of complex technical initiatives and driving them from conception through deployment. You will be responsible for maintaining high engineering standards, mentoring other developers, and contributing to architectural decisions that ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of our systems. What You’ll Do Software Development Design, develop, and implement high‑quality, scalable software solutions while championing coding standards, best practices, and architectural consistency. Translate complex product and business requirements into robust technical designs, proactively identifying risks and proposing effective solutions. Write clean, efficient, secure, and maintainable code across frontend and backend systems, optimizing for performance and long‑term scalability. Lead and participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback, guiding best practices, and helping elevate the overall code quality of the team. Partner with product managers, designers, and cross‑functional stakeholders to refine requirements, influence technical direction, and ensure alignment between technical solutions and business goals. Testing and Quality Assurance Develop, execute, and maintain comprehensive test strategies and plans, including unit, integration, and end‑to‑end testing for complex systems. Identify, diagnose, and resolve software defects, collaborating closely with QA engineers while driving root‑cause analysis and long‑term corrective actions. Partner with the QA team to design, improve, and expand automated test suites, ensuring high coverage, reliability, and alignment with evolving product functionality. Proactively enhance software quality through systematic refactoring, performance tuning, improved observability, and implementation of robust error‑handling patterns. Advocate for a quality‑first mindset across the engineering team, helping define testing standards, encourage best practices, and ensure quality considerations are embedded throughout the development lifecycle. Collaboration and Communication In partnership with the QA Lead, define and drive comprehensive testing strategies for complex features and services, ensuring robust coverage through unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests. Lead the identification, diagnosis, and resolution of software defects, coordinating with QA engineers and guiding teams toward root‑cause elimination rather than surface‑level fixes. Partner with QA leadership to architect, enhance, and maintain automated testing frameworks and pipelines, influencing tooling and processes that improve reliability and developer efficiency. Continuously elevate software quality through refactoring, performance optimization, improved observability, and adoption of resilient error‑handling patterns. Champion a culture of quality across engineering, setting expectations, promoting best practices, and ensuring testing and reliability considerations are integrated into design and development from the outset. Continuous Improvement Proactively identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, workflows, and team efficiency, and lead the adoption of best practices across the development lifecycle. Drive innovation by proposing, validating, and implementing new tools, patterns, and approaches that enhance code quality, system performance, and developer productivity. Stay current with emerging technologies, software development methodologies, and industry trends, evaluating their relevance and advocating for their adoption where beneficial. Contribute to the evolution of team standards, engineering guidelines, and architectural frameworks, ensuring continuous improvement is embedded into the team’s culture. Mentor teammates by sharing insights, fostering learning, and encouraging experimentation with modern techniques and tools. Deliverables Consistently deliver complex features and tasks with a high degree of autonomy, ensuring all work meets or exceeds the definition of done, including documentation, testing, and deployment readiness. Produce high‑quality, maintainable code that adheres to engineering standards, and lead by example in driving rigorous, value‑adding code reviews that uplift overall team quality. Take ownership of deliverables across the full development lifecycle, ensuring reliability, scalability, and alignment with architectural and product goals. Anticipate delivery risks, communicate proactively with stakeholders, and implement strategies to maintain predictable and sustainable delivery timelines. Who You Are 7+ years of professional software development experience, with a proven track record of delivering scalable, high‑quality web or enterprise applications. Strong proficiency in front‑end technologies, including TypeScript, React, Redux, HTML, and CSS, with the ability to guide architectural decisions and mentor others in their use. Strong proficiency in back‑end technologies such as C# and Node.js, with experience designing and maintaining reliable, high‑performance services and APIs. Familiarity with AWS Services and Infrastructure technologies in general (Elastic Beanstalk, EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda and etc). Deep understanding of testing principles and hands‑on experience with unit testing and automation frameworks (e.g., React Testing Library, Jest, Playwright, Cypress), with the ability to influence testing strategy and ensure high coverage. Strong understanding of modern software development methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and issue tracking systems (e.g., Jira), with experience contributing to process improvements. Demonstrated ability to leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) – such as GitHub Copilot or Claude – to accelerate development workflows, improve code quality, and enhance overall engineering efficiency. Strong proficiency with relational databases and SQL, including schema design, query optimization, and data modeling. Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills, with the ability to break down complex technical challenges and drive solutions independently. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence technical discussions, align stakeholders, and effectively collaborate across teams. Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to operate with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong ownership, accountability, and the ability to prioritize and deliver across multiple initiatives.
