Date Posted: 09/17/2025 • Closing Date: 11/17/2025, 11:59PM ET • Req ID: 44343 • Job Category: Faculty - Tenure Stream (continuing) • Faculty/Division: Faculty of Arts & Science • Department: Department of Cell & Systems Biology • Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto) Responsibilities We seek outstanding applicants with a track record of demonstrated excellence in applying cell biological approaches to address fundamental questions in animal morphogenesis that will enhance and complement the strengths of the Department in genomics, developmental biology, cell biology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics. Candidates should employ cutting edge approaches in imaging, mechanobiology, and/or systems biology to address questions of tissue morphogenesis during animal development. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue and establish a vigorous, innovative, externally funded, and independent research program. Teaching responsibilities will include contributions to the undergraduate and graduate curricula and supervision of students. Qualifications Ph.D. in Biology or a related field (e.g., Molecular & Cellular Biology, Systems Biology, Synthetic Biology, Developmental Biology, Genome Biology, Genetics, etc.). A minimum of two years of postdoctoral experience. A demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. A record of publications in top-ranked and field-relevant journals, a strong research statement, conference presentations, evidence of peer-reviewed funding, and strong referees’ endorsements. Teaching dossier including a teaching statement, sample course materials, teaching evaluations, or evidence of superior teaching-related activities; ability to contribute to teaching as a teaching assistant or course instructor, mentorship, or successful workshops/seminars.
