Opportunity As part of AMH Supported Housing, the Addiction Counsellor III will join a multi‑disciplinary team offering high‑intensity community‑based services in Edmonton. The role brings a holistic approach to comprehensive assessment, intervention and evaluation within a Recovery Oriented service delivery model. Assertive outreach and individual and group interventions engage participants to facilitate recovery from substance use, addiction and mental health concerns, partnering with clients to achieve community functioning with minimal ongoing professional supports. Description As an Addiction Counsellor III you will provide client‑focused, recovery‑based and culturally appropriate assessment, case management, crisis intervention, education and referral services for clients and their families, including community stabilization services. You will develop and implement treatment plans, offer least‑intrusive services, monitor and evaluate client progress, and adapt treatment as needed. Strong relationship‑building skills with clients, families, government staff and colleagues are essential. A related degree combined with a diploma related to addictions, or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Individuals eligible for registration under the Health Professions Act (Alberta) must maintain active registration. Individuals may require authorization/permission under regulation to perform restricted psychosocial interventions and/or restricted activities. Additional Required Qualifications Current CPR (BLS Level C – Health Care Provider) Current NCI – Non‑Violent Crisis Intervention certification A driver's license and access to a vehicle; client transportation, where appropriate, is required 3‑5 years’ experience in a community mental health/addictions setting; preference given to those who have experience working with housing sites Excellent communication and self‑management skills Experience working with multiple partners Position transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024.
