This is an individual contributor role and also HYBRID (2-3 days in office). We are looking for a candidate who brings 10-15 years of data platform & data engineering experience having worked with multiple data warehouses, databases, interconnected and interdependent systems, including the added A.I. functionality for Platforms. Responsibilities Understands the business requirement, prepare design & solution to build scalable yet practical and cutting edge technology driven solutions Gathers, documents and explains requirements to team, translates them to code and develops pipelines for running end to end systems Has experience in handling process improvements using automation, re-modelling, modernization, re-design or update design, solution for optimal and cost efficient needs Works with extract, transform, load (ETL) for various sources and downstream consumption, has ability to write code and guide other team members in writing complex transformations. Experienced in data modelling, designing complex systems to support large scale transformations, hands with data mining & analysis for existing and new data warehouses within the industry Supports functional and non-functional requirements for building data pipelines, CI/CD pipelines, automated systems, and AI Solutions. Has an innovative & creative mindset and can work in a dynamic environment with existing systems & help build new systems to run faster yet in lean manner. Has analytical ability to think beyond boundaries yet help build solutions that are usable, pragmatic and value driven on ground to other teams within the organization. Hands on experience in writing SQL/No-SQL queries, data pipelines, transformation, well versed with developing code using python, scala and bash scripting. Experience with spearheading discussions with counterparts, stakeholders, business, architecture teams, operations and other engineering teams. Experienced in guiding the team to code, develop, unit testing and QA new/existing pipelines, automated solutions and ability to structure new solutions with minimal requirements provided yet seek for clarifications as needed. Qualifications Typically 10-15 years of data engineering experience having worked with multiple types of data warehouses, databases, interconnected and interdependent systems on prem and on cloud Recent Artificial Intelligence experience, as platform embedded capability Strong hands-on experience with Python, Scala, Bash Solid experience writing SQL/No-SQL queries, data pipelines and ETL Salary $94,600.00 - $176,000.00 Pay Type Salaried The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position. BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
