SCADA Engineer (E3) – 12-Month Contract (Likely to Extend) Location: Burnaby (Edmonds) – Hybrid Pay: $60–$71/hr Incorporated | $50–$58/hr T4 Term Deadline to Apply: 8:00 AM – December 17, 2025 Base pay range CA$50.00/hr – CA$71.00/hr About the Role This role is with a major provincial electrical utility organization responsible for high‑voltage transmission systems, generation sites, and province‑wide distribution infrastructure. The SCADA Engineering group supports critical capital projects, grid modernization, and remote monitoring/control systems across voltages from 12 kV to 500 kV. The team delivers engineering design, project support, commissioning, and emergency response services for complex utility infrastructure. This is a long‑term program with strong potential for extension. What You’ll Be Doing Deliver engineering design, configuration, and testing for SCADA systems supporting high‑voltage infrastructure. Integrate remote monitoring/control equipment across transmission, generation, and distribution facilities (12 kV–500 kV). Lead engineering assignments, review work for accuracy and compliance, and provide technical guidance to internal teams and contractors. Prepare engineering documentation: evaluation reports, specifications, design packages, estimates, test plans, and signed/sealed deliverables. Configure/program GE RTUs (D20/D25/D200/D400), gateway devices, switches/routers, and other IEDs. Validate device configurations in lab settings and support commissioning activities. Provide field technical support as needed, including construction support and field reviews. Coordinate cross‑discipline integration and maintain strong working relationships with internal/external stakeholders. Must-Have Qualifications Degree in Electrical Engineering from an institution accredited by Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC). P.Eng designation and a valid Permit to Practice (P2P) . Proven experience with utility SCADA design , configuration, testing, and troubleshooting. Hands‑on experience with GE RTU platforms (D20, D200, D25, D400, IBOX). Strong knowledge of DNP3 , MODBUS , Ethernet networking, gateways, and protocol testing tools. Ability to attend the Burnaby (Edmonds) office on a hybrid basis. Assets Experience with M2M networking applications . Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts related to SCADA/OT. Knowledge of NERC standards.
