Our Southern Ontario offices of Whitby, Toronto, Mississauga, Markham, and St. Catherines are looking for a Senior Bridge CAD Designer ready to join our growing Canadian Operations within the Transportation Group. The Transportation Group within GHD Canada works with Provincial, Regional, and local municipal transportation agencies, as well as select contracting partners, on large-scale projects across the whole Transportation spectrum of highways, roads and bridges, transit and multi-modal infrastructure, and transportation planning. Our team provides integrated transportation services throughout the project lifecycle from initial policy, transportation economics, and business case advice, through concept, environmental assessment, detailed design, construction administration, and asset management support services. This role is intended for senior CAD leads looking to continue their career in the design of transportation structures for municipalities, MTO, IO, and major transportation partners. This role is also suitable for an experienced Intermediate Designer who is looking to advance their career to become a subject matter expert in transportation structure design, and who embraces new technologies and software in modern engineering design delivery. Responsibilities Design and Conceptualization: Developing working drawings from engineering notes, specifications, sketches, ensuring compliance with standards and codes. Collaboration and Communication: Working with various teams, sub-consultants, municipalities, utility companies, and clients. Applications and Software: Exposure or interest in visualization software (Infraworks, etc.) and design programming (Dynamo, etc.) is an asset. Team: Providing project design leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior staff. Product and Solution Development: Supporting data gathering and documentation following established procedures. Operational Compliance: Ensuring designs meet company policies and applicable standards such as CSA and MTO. Design Delivery: Experience with design delivery in conventional and design-build projects is an asset. Education Diploma in Structural Technology or related field from an accredited institution. Experience 15+ years' experience in bridge and steel/concrete structure design. Experience in bridge rehabilitation techniques. Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley, and ProjectWise. Skilled in Microstation (Asset). Ability to work in large teams and across regions. Ability to work independently and lead project teams. Valid Ontario driver’s license.
