Key Responsibilities Timely and accurate completion of quarterly and annual MD&A and financial statements in a multi-jurisdictional, publicly traded reporting environment under USGAAP. Analyze, review, and communicate accounting treatment and required disclosure related to non-routine, new or proposed business development transactions and other complex accounting matters. Lead disclosure research projects and draft new disclosure initiatives. Review and contribute to external reports with financial disclosures prepared outside the Finance group, including Annual Information Form, Annual Report, Sustainability report, Management Information Circular, and securities or prospectus filings. Support preparation of Audit Committee and Disclosure Committee reports and presentations. liaise with Emera and its operating companies’ senior financial leadership teams on accounting policy and disclosure related items. Maintain strong technical knowledge of accounting standards under USGAAP, disclosure requirements, and current industry best practices. Ensure compliance with internal controls and manage relationships with external auditors. Skills, Capabilities and Experience You are a CPA or equivalent, hold a post‑secondary degree in a relevant field, and have 5‑7 years of progressive experience in financial reporting or accounting policy. Excellent understanding of accounting policies, consolidation processes, and financial statements. Strong project management skills: planning, organizing, prioritizing tasks. Knowledge of disclosure requirements for MD&A and financial statements under US GAAP and in compliance with CSA and SEC. Strong business and financial acumen, problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, presenting findings, and explaining complex data to non‑financial stakeholders. Experience working in or auditing a public company. High level of accuracy and attention to detail, delivering under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Experience in the energy sector and deep understanding of US GAAP and public company reporting are assets.
