Qualifications Bachelor of Education (Secondary). Completion of 3rd and 4th year university coursework necessary for teaching senior level curricula. Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership with The Ministry of Education and Childcare. Ability to assist students as needed in a variety of curriculum areas at senior grade levels. Experience developing and maintaining a positive classroom learning environment that engages students in active learning. Use of inclusive instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Knowledge of inclusion strategies to address diverse learning needs. Use of a trauma-informed approach in practice. Experience with competency‑based assessment strategies. Differentiating instruction to create success for each student. Integrating appropriate technologies to improve learning outcomes. Online Education Focus Experience in online curriculum development and delivery in line with B.C. standards for K‑12 online learning. Expertise with educational technologies, especially course management and synchronous/asynchronous delivery tools. Utilization of LMS such as Moodle and Brightspace. Providing flexible learning opportunities for students with ragged entry and exit. High technological literacy and interest in technology integration. Effective online communication with parents, students, and staff via audio, video, email, phone, and chat.
