This Veterinary Assistant works under a Veterinarian or RVT while supporting clients, pets, and the hospital team. The work includes animal care counseling, laboratory procedure explanations, medication guidance, and preventative healthcare recommendations. The role also involves greeting, handling, and treating animals safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Counsel clients on medication dosage and purpose
- Explain home care and vaccination requirements
- Recommend preventative healthcare practices to clients
- Suggest and explain laboratory procedures and testing
- Greet, handle, and treat animals safely
Requirements:
- Ability to work under Veterinarian or RVT direction
- Ability to educate clients about animal care
- Ability to explain laboratory procedures and testing
- Compassionate approach to animals and clients
- Ability to support safe, secure animal handling
