BusPlanner's SaaS infrastructure is hosted on IBM Cloud , and we are continuously optimizing our environment to enhance performance, security, and scalability for our clients.

What you will do

  • Manage and apply Windows updates to ensure servers remain secure, up-to-date, and perform optimally.
  • Configure new servers and provide accurate server quotes for SaaS resource management.
  • Oversee internal network management, including setting up new computers for employees and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Identify and implement process improvements by automating repetitive server management tasks.
  • Investigate and resolve technical server issues, such as performance bottlenecks, RDP/Remote App access, and IT environment challenges.
  • Conduct SQL database maintenance, ensuring optimal performance through backups, optimization, and monitoring.
  • Manage and execute upgrades for BusPlanner products, ensuring smooth installations and minimal downtime.
  • Address security and privacy concerns by maintaining compliance with regulations and safeguarding infrastructure against threats.
  • Monitor and maintain server and network infrastructure to ensure stability, reliability, and performance.

What you bring to the table

  • Experience with Windows Server administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Cloud infrastructure management expertise, ideally with IBM Cloud, Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • SQL database management experience, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and backups.
  • Proficiency in process automation, using tools like PowerShell, Bash, or Ansible.
  • Strong knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks for IT environments.
  • Familiarity with networking protocols (e.g., SFTP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs).
  • Ability to troubleshoot server performance and remote access issues effectively.
  • Strong technical communication skills to convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for process improvement and operational efficiency.

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator, CompTIA Network+, or ITIL Foundation are a plus.

Successful candidates will work in our Waterloo office for 3+ days a week for a six-month training period, with a possibility of expanded remote work after successful completion of the training phase.
