Summary The designer-programmer programs industrial control systems. Depending on their experience, they may be involved in designing logic, project documentation and training plans for the client. Roles and responsibilities Selection of control equipment appropriate to the project needs; Preparation of a control architecture and main parts lists; Preparation of PLC input and output lists; Programming of PLCs, operator interfaces, robots and HMI; Program testing prior to commissioning at the customer's site; Testing of control panels at the manufacturer's site; Supervision and support for the installation of the control system at the customer's site; Program commissioning at the customer's site; Training of the customer's operators or technicians; Production support after commissioning. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in automated production engineering or electrical engineering; A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position; Functional English and French. Specific requirements Experience in the manufacturing sector; Knowledge of systems used in the manufacturing field - an asset; Knowledge of machine safety methods and standards – an asset; Ability to travel to client sites or abroad; Francization PCI is committed to complying with the provisions of Quebec's Charter of the French Language (Bill 101), thereby ensuring that French is the official and common language of the organization. In this position, the use of English is not a prerequisite, but it is desirable in order to better serve our English-speaking clientele outside Quebec.
