Senior Tools Developer (contract) / Programmeur·euse senior – Outils (contrat) Studio KRAFTON Montréal is a AAA game studio dedicated to building ambitious, large‑scale experiences. Our tools team empowers artists, designers, engineers and producers with systems and workflows that enable faster, safer development and better games. As a Senior Tools Developer (French: Programmeur·euse senior – Outils ), you will design, build and evolve the tools, services, and pipelines that support our game teams. Your impact will be felt whenever a feature ships faster, a problem is debugged more easily or a repetitive task is automated. Job Description Design and develop C#/.NET tools for game production: Rich desktop applications built with WPF Command‑line utilities and shared libraries ASP.NET‑based services and APIs that support internal workflows, dashboards, build orchestration and integration with studio systems Instrument tools and services with logging, metrics and tracing (OpenTelemetry or similar) to improve observability and debugging. Create user‑friendly tools and workflows for developers, artists, designers, QA and production, emphasizing usability, clarity and fast feedback. Collaborate closely with end users to understand their challenges and translate them into practical, reliable, maintainable solutions. Own features end‑to‑end: from requirements and UX design to implementation, rollout, documentation and iteration based on feedback. Contribute to automation and reliability, including build and test pipelines, validation steps and guardrails that detect problems early. Add and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, smoke, regression) for tools and services where appropriate. Help keep our tools ecosystem healthy over time: refactor, modernise, improve performance and reduce complexity where possible. Participate in technical discussions and decisions on the tools team, bringing ideas and perspectives that help us choose good solutions together. Lead or contribute to high‑quality animation work for characters, creatures and other game elements, ensuring timely delivery and quality compliance. Assist in creating cinematic interactive scenes for narrative quests and collaborate with game designers and other programmers. Qualifications / Knowledge & Skills 10+ years of professional software development experience, including significant work building tools, internal applications or services. Strong expertise with C#/.NET and experience building and maintaining ASP.NET services or APIs. Experience with WPF or similar UI frameworks for building productive, user‑focused desktop tools. Hands‑on experience with instrumentation and observability (structured logging, metrics, tracing, preferably OpenTelemetry). Proven ownership of complex tools or systems from concept through production and long‑term maintenance. Solid background in test automation: automated functional tests for tools and services, API testing frameworks, CI/CD integration (TeamCity, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.). Familiarity with C++, especially when tools interact with game engines or editors. Experience integrating tools with version control systems (Perforce, Git, etc.) and build systems. Autonomous, collaborative, solutions‑oriented working style with clear communication across technical and non‑technical teams. Game‑development experience, especially in AAA or mid/large studios, is considered an asset. Unreal Engine tooling experience (editor extensions, custom workflows, BuildGraph, etc.) is highly desirable. Experience with AI‑related tools or pipelines (integrating AI‑powered functionality or building AI‑assisted pipelines) is preferred.
