We provide a comprehensive cancer care program for the people of British Columbia in partnership with regional health authorities to deliver a range of services including prevention, screening, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, research, education, supportive care, rehabilitation and palliative care. BC Cancer operates six regional cancer centres and two research centres that conduct research into the causes and cures for cancer. BC Cancer – Victoria offers a full range of services in Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Palliative Care and support services such as Nutrition, Clinical Trials and Patient and Family Counseling. BC Cancer – Victoria partners with a network of community centres such as Nanaimo, BC, so that patients can continue to receive systemic therapy in their local communities. Role Summary Regular Part‑time (Flexible FTE) in Nanaimo, BC. The role involves symptom management for patients on active treatment and patient follow‑up assessments. Successful candidates will develop expertise in medical oncology through support from the department and the University of British Columbia. Responsibilities Provide symptom management for patients receiving systemic therapy. Conduct patient follow‑up assessments and coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams. Collaborate with the broader oncology team to ensure high‑quality, continuous patient care. Qualifications Eligible for licensure in British Columbia. Canadian certification (FRCP, FRCS or CCFP) at the time of appointment. Suitable for appointment to the University of British Columbia. Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019). Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti‑racism initiatives.
