Overview Software International (SI) supplies technical talent to a variety of clients ranging from Fortune 100/500/1000 companies to small and mid-sized organizations in Canada/US. We currently have a 12 month renewable contract as a Mainframe z/OS DB2 Specialist with our large global infrastructure client, supporting a major financial client account. This could be an indefinite long term contract or move into a permanent role. Details Type: Contract Duration: 12 months to start + possible multiple extensions Rate: $100 - $115/hr + C2C - depending on overall experience Location: Remote, Canada Responsibilities Install, customize, and maintain the DB2 subsystem on the z/OS platform. Perform system upgrades and apply maintenance to keep the DB2 environment current. Monitor DB2 performance and tune the system to optimize performance. Provide technical support to application developers and other system users. Troubleshoot and resolve DB2-related issues. Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing. Maintain system documentation and procedures. Ensure system security and compliance with company policies and industry standards. Collaborate with other IT teams to support business initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Extensive experience with DB2 system programming on the z/OS platform. Strong knowledge of z/OS components and architecture. Proficiency in using DB2 diagnostics tools and tooling. Experience with performance analysis and tuning. Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
