The Opportunity SLGA is seeking a visionary, collaborative and strategic senior executive leader who is interested in making a real difference as the province shapes its growth initiatives for today and future generations. The Vice President, Regulatory Services is responsible for all regulatory service functions and is also responsible for the charitable gaming grant program, regulatory system support and audit services. As a member of the SLGA Executive Committee, the Vice President plays a key role in achieving the overall strategic direction and operational success of the organization. This includes fostering relationships between divisions through strong collaboration and effective communication, aligned with SLGA’s vision, mission and values, and supporting a thriving workplace. Core Duties Reporting to the President & CEO, the Vice President, Regulatory Services is responsible for, among others, the following core duties: Leadership Work collaboratively with SLGA’s Executive Committee and Senior Leadership Team to set and achieve SLGA’s strategic goals. Demonstrate SLGA's values of one team, respect and integrity, serving citizens, and excellence and innovation to encourage an environment where employees are engaged and able to perform at their best. Oversee and direct the development, implementation and monitoring of the division’s strategic and operational plans, providing strategic leadership and stewardship for the regulatory services function. Lead and manage organizational change initiatives to ensure SLGA remains responsive to emerging trends and issues. Regulatory Oversight Ensure SLGA's regulatory environment is responsive to societal change while ensuring fair and safe operations, focusing on public safety and compliance while maintaining customer service. Direct and lead the activities relating to the regulation of gaming, liquor, and cannabis, and the operation of the charitable gaming grant program to ensure fiscal responsibility in the management of public funds, and internal and external audit services. Who we’re looking for This opportunity is for an experienced senior leader with a history of building strong teams and achieving results in a regulatory environment, combined with exposure to policy development and financial management in the public sector. Our candidate of choice for this influential role will be a proactive leader who has: Leadership strengths that promote inclusion, engagement and foster an innovative and collaborative environment in a provincial regulatory agency. Knowledge of government legislative and regulatory processes and protocols, as it relates to public policy development and financial management including comprehensive knowledge of administrative law and principles of natural justice. A proven track record of building and maintaining credible relationships across a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse team focused on developing and implementing programs and services to diverse stakeholders and the public. Demonstrated ability to build commitment through collaboration, consultation and consideration of citizen and stakeholder impacts. Proven ability to work and lead effectively in a team-based environment with excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytic and problem solving skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization as well as outside the organization.
