Job Details Job type : Long‑term contract opportunity (initial 12‑month contract with possibilities for extension). Work style : 40 hours per week, on‑site office work required 5 days per week. Security clearance : Nuclear Worker / OPG / Bruce Power clearance required. Responsibilities Provide input and direction to the development of conceptual and detailed equipment designs through a structured design process. Offer technical oversight and mentor junior engineering team members. Design and analyze electrical power distribution for operating nuclear and other industrial plants. Perform condition assessments of electrical equipment such as transformers, breakers, switch gears, motors, motor control centers, generators, and other power‑plant assets. Develop life‑cycle plans, including inspection and test programs. Execute engineering change designs and analyses following established change‑control procedures. Conduct electrical analysis, equipment protection, cable selection, and overall equipment selection. Interface with construction, procurement partners, and utility stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, from preliminary through detailed design, implementation, and close‑out. Provide field support for multi‑disciplinary plant design modifications. Lead design teams where appropriate and provide technical guidance on projects. Understand client problems and determine appropriate solutions. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams. Stay current with developments in the electrical engineering field. Ideal Candidate OSCE/OPG/Bruce Power security clearance is required. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). 5+ years experience in electrical design engineering. Professional engineer licenses (P.Eng / M.Eng) and eligibility for PEO status. Proven track record in electrical design and analysis for power distribution, including nuclear plants. Strong knowledge of generating station upgrades, system protection, stability, and relaying. Experience performing condition assessments of plant electrical equipment. Knowledge of lifecycle management of electrical equipment. In‑depth familiarity with codes and standards applicable to nuclear and conventional plants (e.g., N299, CSA N286). Project management experience and coordination of multi‑disciplinary teams. Experience with nuclear plant systems & processes (Bruce Power, OPG, NB Power, etc.) and engineering change control. Strong time‑management, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to lead complex and multi‑disciplinary projects. Innovative, enthusiastic, and committed to high‑quality technical work.
