Regional Medical Director, Primary Care Program Join to apply for the Regional Medical Director, Primary Care Program role at Vancouver Coastal Health Work Site : 601 Broadway, Vancouver, BC Status : Regular Part-Time Compensation Type : Salary Key Accountabilities Co‑lead the Regional Program Committee with the Regional Executive Director to ensure consultation and collaboration across Communities of Care and other operational partners. Champion quality improvement, innovation, and knowledge translation, leveraging AI and technology to pilot and scale initiatives across primary care. Design and evaluate services using a population health approach to meet the needs of diverse populations across Communities of Care. Lead strategic planning and implementation of regional strategies aligning with VCH, Providence Health Care, and provincial mandates. Ensure equitable, culturally safe, and timely access to primary care services, engaging communities and stakeholders in planning. Facilitate regional safety event reviews, equity initiatives, and virtual care expansion, especially in rural and remote areas. Coordinate with academic partners (e.g., UBC Faculty of Medicine) to develop teaching, learning, and research opportunities. Represent VCH interests in inter‑regional, provincial, and national interest groups; serve as spokesperson when required. Education, Licensing, & Experience Medical Degree and certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) or equivalent; active licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. Minimum 5 years of recent medical leadership experience in a health authority or comparable setting, preferably within an academic health science center. Experience in primary care/longitudinal primary care environment. Demonstrated ability to build and sustain strong relationships with peers, operational leaders, and system partners through trust, respect, and collaboration. Advanced degree in medical education, healthcare administration or related field is favored. Track record of leading multi‑partner, system‑level projects and initiatives. Eligibility for a faculty appointment with the University of British Columbia, Faculty of Medicine.
