Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting a temporary part-time (0.5 FTE) Junior High Online teacher at Next Step. Teaching subjects include: English, Social Studies, Science and Math. The successful candidate will be working primarily out of Fort Saskatchewan campus from 12-3:30pm daily. The position requires meeting via an online platform daily with grade 7-12 students. FTE may increased based on number of students registered. Familiarity with Brightspace and online assessment an asset.

Commencing August 27, 2024 to June 26, 2025

Next Step Sherwood Park provides flexible, outreach programming for grades 7 to 12 students with eight teaching staff and four support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park, AB.

Next Step is a supportive, alternative school for students who require a non-traditional, individualized program. Located in community-based sites in Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan and Vegreville, Next Step provides students with:

Qualifications:

•Bachelor of Education degree

•Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

•Experience or familiarity analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
