Senior Project Manager – Governance and Controls Location: Downtown Toronto Hybrid: Mondays in office Duration: 6 months to begin with potential to extend Hours/week: 37.5 hrs/wk. 9-5 PM, M-F Job Description What You’ll Be Doing As a Senior Project Manager, you will join the Governance and Controls team within the Risk Management division to manage medium to large‑scale projects, working collaboratively with business stakeholders, vendors, and technical resources. This role is an exciting and highly visible area of the bank and will primarily support various governance and control initiatives throughout the organization. You will work with stakeholders to understand regulatory and compliance requirements and support the delivery of initiatives that may be multi‑year programs or high‑budget projects. Strategic Minded – Understand the bank’s regulatory and compliance direction, drive project execution by engaging and motivating assigned resources, oversee early stages of projects, ensure documentation is captured, review impacts of new initiatives, present recommendations to senior executives, and successfully plan, execute, control, and close projects against defined scope, budget, and timelines using the bank’s methodology, procedures, and policies. Project Management – Support and manage projects for the Governance and Controls team, update and create project status and financial reports, maintain risk logs, and produce related documentation while communicating effectively with stakeholders to manage expectations and resolve issues. Strong Communications – Prepare and chair steering committees, provide regular status updates, and report to senior management on project status, financials, risks, and issues to secure consensus on direction. Relationship Management – Enable appropriate communication with technology and business partners as well as external organizations to continually review, monitor, and proactively manage project progress. What We’re Looking For Experience – 5+ years in professional project management supporting governance and controls initiatives, with an understanding of risk management, compliance, and audit methodologies. Practical experience with planning, organizing, and monitoring multiple projects simultaneously is required, and experience with MS Project, SharePoint, Planview, Agile and Waterfall methodologies in the financial services industry is an asset.
